9 Days Maasai Mara Luxury lodge safari

Day 1: Nairobi - Maasai Mara national reserve

We depart Nairobi in the morning and drive down the escarpment via the floor of the Great Rift Valley, the first stop over is at the Great Rift Valley view point where the history of the formation of the rift valley is described, as you take the photos of the escarpment before proceeding to Narok for lunch. After lunch we proceed for the next 2 hours to arrive in Maasai Mara Game Reserve in time for an afternoon game drive. Upon arrival you check in the lodge and then refreshment which is followed by late afternoon game drive which takes to late evening. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Days 2: Maasai Mara Full Day

Morning and afternoon game drives from the comfortable base of the lodge, explore the parks amazingly high concentration of game. This game reserve is Kenya's finest wildlife sanctuary. Including migrants, well over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. Although July, August and September are the months when the Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra, there is also resident wildlife year round. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Full day in Maasai Mara national reserve

Wake up at 0600hrs for a cup of coffee followed by an early morning game drive and back to the camp for a full breakfast. After breakfast proceed for another game drive visiting Mara River for hippos, crocodiles and the migration point of the wild beasts. (There’s another option of proceeding for a game drive with a packed lunch till evening). Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Full day in Maasai Mara national reserve

Spend the whole day in the Maasai Mara plains doing game drives and on the lookout for herds of wildebeests crossing the crocodile-infested Mara River. Visit Maasai cultural village in the evening to learn their culture and dances. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Full day in Maasai Mara national reserve

Full day spent exploring the park in search of the big five and other games. The Maasai Mara National Reserve is arguably Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary. It is the most famous and most visited game reserve in Kenya. A spectacle worth seeing is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle from Serengeti plains across the Tanzania border and the Mara River to reach Maasai Mara grazing fields from late July. The dramatic crossing of the river and the preying on the migrants by predators can be viewed from early July to Late August. The reserve abounds with birdlife since dose to over 400 species have been recorded. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day6: Full day in Maasai Mara national reserve

After your morning early breakfast, you will have the full day game viewing of all the games Maasai Mara national reserve. Then have your optional nature walk in between the meals. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day7: Full day in Maasai Mara national reserve

You will spend the whole day in the Maasai Mara plains doing game drives and on the lookout for herds of wildebeests crossing the crocodile-infested Mara River. Late in the evening return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day8: Full day in Maasai Mara national reserve

After your morning early breakfast, there will be a possibility to take an optional hot air balloon ride (costs excluded). “Take to the skies for the ultimate Maasai Mara wildlife adventure, soaring in a hot air balloon over herds of game to the inner reaches of the Mara. You’ll ascend in the early morning, when winds are calmest. Watch as the professional crew fills the balloon with hot air. Slowly the big, colorful bag begins to bulge and take shape. After your incredible flight, it’s time to come back down to earth for breakfast. You might wonder what all the ordinary people are doing on this perfect African morning! Before leaving, the pilot will present you with your balloon flight certificate, and then you’ll enjoy a game drive en route back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Maasai Mara - Nairobi  

Game drive starts as early as 0600hrs, you will have a cup of hot coffee or tea, then proceed for the exciting game drive which will introduce you to the early morning kill from the Big Cats. Lucky enough you will be able to spot Leopard as they are easily seen along the path since they always avoid the contacts with the morning dew. Explore the park for the about 3 hours and then return to the lodge for the main breakfast. After the breakfast check out the lodge. There after leave Maasai Mara and proceed back to Nairobi arriving early afternoon with drop off in the hotel of your choice or back to the Airport to catch up with your flight back home.
